The first of May heralds the coming of Spring,
When the sun will shine and blooms it will bring,
In Britain the day is celebrated with a day off work,
Upon the first Monday in May, we're given this perk,
At least you do if you don't work where I do,
We're given extra days in our allowance in lieu,
On this day in May, I worked from home in my nightwear,
Planning this mani when I had a moment to spare,
Brights on my digits, against a grey Scottish day,
Hoping for Spring to come knocking my way.
