Peacock Parade Preview

Today I have a preview of the peacock parade that will be my cousin's hen weekend, next weekend! We are taking the piss on Friday night with an evening in with a dressing up box full of tacky Gypsy Wedding style outfits and on Saturday night we are going to a cocktail masterclass, dinner and dancing with a peacock theme.

I needed to replace yesterday's manicure due to my disappointment so I have painted my nails a week early in my own peacock styling!  On the hen weekend, I will be painting anyone who wishes nails in peacock colours only.  This gives a pretty good scope with golds, browns, blues, greens, purple and turquoises!

For my peacock manicure, I did my first ever gradient using eyeshadow applicators with OPI "Jade is the New Black", OPI "Cuckoo for this Colour", OPI "Yoga-ta Get this Blue", Zoya "Charla", A England "Elaine" and Ozotic "513" topped off with that old favourite of many a peacock manicure out there: BM plate 212 in Barry M "Gold".

It's been four months since I sent out the invite I made and I can't wait for next weekend!

Update: I added extra dots in the aptly named Orly "Sweet Peacock"!

Update 14th May: manicure still looking good after a whole week but even though I'm loathe to take it off as it's the best manicure I've ever done, I think the time has come :(

On another note, we had an amazing hen weekend.  I only managed to give about five manicures and took no photos so this peacock preview post is all there will be!

Update: I actually did take one photo of a hen weekend guest but I completely forgot! Without further ado, this is Kim's manicure:

  1. It turned out beautiful, Saima! Are you going to wear the same mani next weekend, or have you planned on changing anything?

I'm thinking you could add a gold rhinestone here and there on the dots of the stamping :) It's just a suggestion!

    Take care!

    1. Thank you and that's a great idea! I have not used rhinestones or studs before but I do have a collection of them. I'm not sure if I have gold ones so I shall have to have a look through my nail stuff!

My manicures last a week without issue (I avoid washing dishes lol) so this will be what I will be sporting next weekend. The rhinestones are probably best added on Saturday before we go out. I think most of my stones are white not gold so perhaps some gold studs might do? Although not as sparkly as jewels! Off to forage in my nail cupboard....

    2. Nope, no gold ones in my stash! Just some coloured ones although I think the pale blue ones might do. Either that or the gold studs but they look too much like the dots I have painted on anyway.
