Red Rectangles

I was thinking all day Sunday of doing my nails and a geometric rectangular design was in my sights.  When I came in from sunbathing to peruse some blogs, I saw that Jane from Nailside had also had the same thoughts!  Her tape work is a joy to behold so mine is the poor cousin to hers lol.

My rectangles are done with OPI "Red Lights Ahead", OPI "Designer de Better" and Ozotic 518 with my ring finger done in alternating colour order, so showcasing both my hands for a change here is this week's manicure:

A Nudist Colony of Dots

After neon nails for one whole week,
A tad more tame was what I did seek,
Enter a Zoya named " Avery",
Full of her naked bravery,
She was made to wear something on top,
Something to make a little pop,
What better thing than my favourite dot,
Made with Orly "Sweet Peacock".

Neon, Neon, Burning Bright....

Taking my cue from William Blake....

Neon, neon, burning bright,
In my living room full of light,
What camera more than my fair eye,
Could frame thy coloured Orly delight.

For this manicure I used my two new neons from Orly: "Beach Cruiser" and "Melt Your Popsicle" topped with a stamp from Dashica (Big Sdp-A) and Northern Lights "Gold":

Peacock Parade Preview

Today I have a preview of the peacock parade that will be my cousin's hen weekend, next weekend! We are taking the piss on Friday night with an evening in with a dressing up box full of tacky Gypsy Wedding style outfits and on Saturday night we are going to a cocktail masterclass, dinner and dancing with a peacock theme.

I needed to replace yesterday's manicure due to my disappointment so I have painted my nails a week early in my own peacock styling!  On the hen weekend, I will be painting anyone who wishes nails in peacock colours only.  This gives a pretty good scope with golds, browns, blues, greens, purple and turquoises!

For my peacock manicure, I did my first ever gradient using eyeshadow applicators with OPI "Jade is the New Black", OPI "Cuckoo for this Colour", OPI "Yoga-ta Get this Blue", Zoya "Charla", A England "Elaine" and Ozotic "513" topped off with that old favourite of many a peacock manicure out there: BM plate 212 in Barry M "Gold".

It's been four months since I sent out the invite I made and I can't wait for next weekend!

Update: I added extra dots in the aptly named Orly "Sweet Peacock"!

Update 14th May: manicure still looking good after a whole week but even though I'm loathe to take it off as it's the best manicure I've ever done, I think the time has come :(

On another note, we had an amazing hen weekend.  I only managed to give about five manicures and took no photos so this peacock preview post is all there will be!

Update: I actually did take one photo of a hen weekend guest but I completely forgot! Without further ado, this is Kim's manicure:

Bleugh

Bleugh is the only deserving word,
That this manicure in me has stirred,
A tad disappointed is little old me,
A failed use of laquer to this degree,
Wasting my bottle of Aquadelic by China Glaze,
To create this mani that does not amaze,
It barely even passes muster,
A touch of Northern Lights makes it less lacklustre,
Here it is for you to see,
Take a gasp, it's just a bit ghastly.

As well as sharing this rather rubbish manicure with it's fried eggs plonked atop the aqua blue, I do have some other things to show you today....

My spoils from a polish swap with Sunny from 365 days of color! Thanks again to this lovely lady for the box of goodies! She got me some Zoyas, CC holos, Milani jewel fx and gems as well as Candy Shop by Claire's:

For those who follow me on facebook, you may already have seen what I sent her along with a personalised poem (yep, the last bottle of Fantasy Fire in the shop!) but now that I have received her parcel, mine seems a bit inadequate....

In the last week or so, I have also done some mini manicures on two little girls I know.  One of whom got a new one today as I babysat her for a few hours plus she got her hair crimped as well:

That's all folks!
